Are you a beginning photographer, perhaps you are still using a “point and shoot” camera? This workshop is for you! For two days we will explore the Beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This class is for individuals who are beginning photography, or individuals who enjoy Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and would like to see some special spots! Also, call us regarding non participating spouses.
The leader of this workshop is Paul Petersen. Paul has been a nature photographer for over 45 years, and a Nature Pro for the last 7 years. Recent images have won many contests including the Pure Michigan Photography Contest. In the fall of 2011 Paul was selected as “Artist in Residence” of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore by the National Park Service. This experience allowed him to locate many hidden locations and become acquainted with the park.
Mornings will find us in the field, as will late afternoons. Mid days will allow you time to work on your images, or to explore the area on your own.

Health Considerations: This workshop requires the capability to walk a few miles each day on trails while carrying camera equipment. Most hikes are considered appropriate or light for an middle aged average person, and several will be to areas that are barrier free.
Lodging: the North Shore Lodge in Grand Marais Mi will be hosting our classes and will be offering a discounted rate to attendees staying in the motel. The Beach Park, Hilltop and Voyageur motels also have rooms at reasonable rates. Grand Marais also has a wonderful campground.
Dates: There is a get acquainted meeting at 7PM October 7th, and the workshop ends with breakfast on October 10th .
Meals: We will eat meals as a group when possible, but the times of the meals may change due to the weather and the field trips. All meals are eaten at restaurants in the area and ordered off the menu. Meals are the responsibility of the attendees.
Transportation: We will carpool or drive our own cars on the field trips. Passengers are asked to share the cost of gas with drivers.
Workshop Tuition: Tuition for the workshop is $275. $100 is required to hold your space . Which is refundable less $50 service fee. Payment must be made in full by September 21. This workshop is limited to 12 attendees. Tuition covers classroom and field instruction. Meals, Lodging and personal items are NOT included.
